A total of 14 newasbestos lawsuits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court during the week of Jan. 18 through Jan. 22.

The following complaints were filed:

--James R. Bell ofAlabama, a laborer and carpenter at various locations from 1955 until 1979, claims lung cancer.Bell will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-59.

--David and Bernice Belton ofArizona claim David Belton developed lung cancer after his work as a laborer performing home repairs from 1958 until 1961, as a stone maker and layer from 1961 until 1963, as a welder for R.F.P. from 1965 until 1972 and as a welder for Chrysler from 1972 until 2002. The Beltons will be represented by Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-64.

--Willie Buchanan ofMinnesota, a laborer and carpenter at various locations from 1967 until 1979, claims lung cancer. Buchanan will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-58.

--Louise Dotson ofIllinois, a laborer, welder and machinist at various locations from 1968 until 1979, claims lung cancer. Dotson will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-53.

--Terry L. Hupp ofOhio, a lab technician at various locations from 1967 until 1977, claims lung cancer. Hupp will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-60.

--Rogelio Perez Sr. of Indiana, a painter, laborer and operator at various locations from 1961 until 1979, claims lung cancer. Perez will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. --Mary Phillips ofGeorgia claims the recently deceased Gertha Phillipsdeveloped mesothelioma after her work as a splicer at Anderson Mills from 1971 until 1976, as an inspector at Smith and Nephew from 1977 until 1990, as a battery inspector at Masbac from 1990 until 1998 and as a custodian atMuscogeeCountySchool District from 2003 until 2008. Mary Phillips will be represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-49.

--Mary Ramsey claims her recently deceased husband, James Ramsey, developed mesothelioma after his work as a carpenter helper at Ragland in 1965, as a lathe operator at CAPCO Finish from 1965 until 1966, as a tester at Stockham Valve in 1966, as an assembly line worker at Anniston Depot Assembly Line from 1966 until 1970, as a supply clerk at Anniston Depot Supply from 1970 until 1974, as a mechanic at Anniston Depot Electric from 1974 until 1977 and as a mechanic at Anniston Depot Fuel and Electric from 1977 until 1995. Mary Ramsey will be represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-51.

--James R. Smith ofMississippi, a laborer and carpenter at various locations from 1966 until 1979, claims lung cancer. Smith will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. --Ginger Vail ofMississippi, a laborer at various locations in 1972, claims mesothelioma. Vail claims she was also secondarily exposed to asbestos fibers through her family member, Berdic Taylor, who worked as a laborer, carpenter and home remodeler at various locations from 1965 until 1976. Vail will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-54.

--William Warren ofUtah, a boiler technician and supervisor at various locations from 1944 until 1975, claims mesothelioma.Warren will be represented by Randy S. Cohn of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-61.

--Eddie Williams ofMissouri, a laborer and assembler at various locations from 1969 until 1979, claims lung cancer. Williams will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-55.

--Anna Mae Willie ofIndiana claims her recently deceased husband, Franklin D. Willie, developed lung cancer after his work as a plumber and electrician for Kitchen Kompact from 1956 until 1996. Anna Mae Willie will be represented by Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-63.

--Frances Winberg claims her recently deceased husband, Tracy Winberg, developed mesothelioma after his work as a baker from the 1960s until 2008 and as a construction worker from the 1960s through the 1970s. Frances Winberg will be represented by Matthew B. McLeod of Shrader and Associates inHouston. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-65.

--Bob D.Berlin ofMinnesota, a plumber, sheet metal worker, electrician and laborer at various locations from 1966 until 1979, claims lung cancer.Berlin will be represented by Robert Phillips, Perry J. Browder and Rosalind M. Robertson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1188.

--David and Kathleen Black ofNew York claim David Black developed mesothelioma after working as a painter and drywaller from 1971 until 1978, as a mechanic and infantryman at St. Leonard Wood from 1975 until 1997, as an accident investigator for the U.S. Army from 2000 until now and as a shadetree mechanic from 1958 until 1980. The Blacks will be represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates inAlton. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, W. Casey Harris and M. Clay Fostel of The Lanier Law Firm inHouston will serve of counsel. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-1165.

--Janet Elrod claims the recently deceased Betty R. Walker developed mesothelioma after being exposed to asbestos fibers through her family member, William Walker, who worked as an electrician from 1960 until 1972 at various locations. --Mark and Margaret Garbry ofNew York claim Mark Garbry developed mesothelioma after his work as a drop hammer operator at Oneida Limited Silverware Company from 1966 until 2009, as a part-time EMT worker from 1989 until 2002 and as a shadetree mechanic in the 1970s. The Garbrys will be represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, R. Craig Bullock and J. Huff, developed mesothelioma after his work as a maintenance worker, millwright and foreman at Masonite from 1948 until 1985 and as an insulator at Ingalls Shipbuilding in the 1960s. --Robert M. and Margatette Law of Virginia claim Robert Law developed mesothelioma after his work with Alcoa from 1944 until 1945 and as a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1950 until 1971. Robert M. Law was also exposed to asbestos fibers through his father, who worked at the same facility for 20 years while Robert M. Law was living with him. The Laws will be represented by Elizabeth V. --Jeana Manolescu ofNew York claims she developed mesothelioma after being exposed to asbestos fibers through her family member, Vincent Egresits, who worked as a laborer, electrician and home remodeler at various locations from 1970 until 1979. Manolescu will be represented by Robert Phillips, Perry J. Browder and Rosalind M. Robertson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. --Ferris Murphy ofNevada claims her recently deceased husband, Laurence S. Murphy, developed lung cancer after his work as a plumber and home remodeler at various locations from 1955 until 1979. --Aileen Noll of Wisconsin claims her recently deceased father, William Noll, developed mesothelioma after his work as a mechanic in the U.S. Army from 1969 until 1972, as a laborer at various sites from 1976 until 1977, as a mechanic from 1977 until 1979, as a drywaller and general residential construction worker 1966 until 1978 and as a shadetree mechanic from 1969 until 1991. --Melvin and Darlene Peterson ofUtah claim Melvin Petersondeveloped mesothelioma after his work as a car salesman at Bosse Motors from 1959 until 1962, as a bricklayer at Powell College from 1960 until 1961, as a laborer at Standard Refinery from 1961 until 1962, as a car salesman at Capital Chevrolet Company from 1962 until 1964, as a partner in Peterson Brothers Construction Company from 1964 until 1967, as a partner in Peterson Trailer and Auto Sales from 1966 until 1967, as the owner and manager of Peterson Auto Sales beginning in 1967 and as a safety inspector and car repairman at Pete's Texaco beginning in 1972. --Barbara Brawley of Arkansas claims her recently deceased husband, Thomas Brawley Jr., developed mesothelioma after his work at Liquid Carbonic and W.P. Rock in Illinois in 1954; as a pipefitter at DuPont Chemical from 1964 until 1965; at Hoyer Schlesinger Turner in 1968; at Piping Systems from 1968 until 1970; as an insulator and laborer at Brown and Roots from 1969 until 1985; and as a member of the Steamfitters' Local 614. --Pat and Patricia Montgomery ofKentucky claim Pat developed mesothelioma after helping his father on a family farm from 1951 until 1957. He was also exposed to asbestos through his work as a laborer from 1958 until 1967, as a mechanic in 1964, as a plastic molder from 1967 until 1969, as a part-time laborer from 1969 until 1971, as a pipe fitter in 1971, as a mechanic and driller from 1972 until 1973, as a miner and mechanic from 1973 until 1974, as a mechanic and pipefitter from 1986 until 1999 and as a mechanical millwright from 1974 until 1982, according to the suit. Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville will be representing them. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0059.

--Estill L. and Hessie Shepherd ofMichigan claim Estill developed lung cancer after his work as a molder from 1951 until 1961, as a laborer in the U.S. Army from 1952 until 1954, as a bartender from 1961 until 1963, as a laborer from 1963 until 1965 and as a welder and fabricator from 1964 until 1999. The Shepherds are represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates of Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0061.

-Christine Warner ofTennessee claims her recently deceased mother, Irene Marsh, developed mesothelioma because of her work as a sales and seamstress at House of Fashions inMemphis from 1959 until 1993. Marsh was also exposed to asbestos through her father's work on a farm from 1934 until 1945 and from his work as a lineworker for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company inMemphis from 1945 until 1952, according to the complaint. Marsh was further exposed to asbestos fibers through her husband, who worked as a plumber from 1952 until 1955 and as an assembly line worker and welder from 1955 until 1960, the suit states. Warner is represented by Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0055.

--Jane White ofMissouri claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased husband, Gary White. He worked from 1955 until 1965 as a boiler operator in the U.S. Navy, from 1965 until 1966 as a welder, from 1966 until 1971 as a laborer at B & H Transport, from 1971 until 1977 as a laborer at Import Auto Transport and from 1977 until 1991 as a laborer for his asphalt repair service, according to the complaint. The Whites are represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates inAlton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0076.
