A total of 25 new asbestos suits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court during the week of Feb. 23 through Feb. 27.

The following claims were filed:

--Jean Angell ofTennessee, a knitter, clerical worker, teacher and receptionist at various locations from 1970 until 2008, claimsmesothelioma. She is represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0174.

--Wilma Frances Boswell ofMissouri claims lung cancer. She claims she was exposed to asbestos fibers through her husband, who was a steel worker at Granite City Steel from 1958 until 1980. Boswell is represented by Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0176.

--Jeaneen Boyd of Arizona claims mesothelioma on behalf of her deceased father, Jaward Boyd, Sr., who worked from 1967 until 2000 as a communication systems worker, manager, supervisor of operations and planning, insurance agent, relief supervisor, engineer technician, engineer tech supporter, staff engineer and customer service representative at various locations through Arizona and Texas. Jeaneen Boyd is represented by Christopher R. Guinn and Christopher J. Levy of SimmonsCooper inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0168.

--Frank Bury ofIllinois, a drill operator, laborer and nail maker at various locations from 1945 until 1986, claims lung cancer. He is represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0162.

--Dewey and Brenda Cardwell ofNew Mexico claim Dewey Cardwell developed mesothelioma after his work from 1964 until 2008 as a mechanic, truck driver, laborer and salesman. Dewey Cardwell is represented by Shane F. Hampton, Paul M. Dix and Courtney Harashe of SimmonsCooper inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0180.

--Glenna Combs of Michigan, a laborer for Enamelum from 1967 though 1968, an assembler at DeDoes from 1972 until 1989 and a laborer at Hughes Manufacturing from 1996 until 1997, claims mesothelioma. She claims she was also exposed to asbestos fibers through her father's work at Stainless Steel of America. Combs is represented by Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0163.

--John Esayian ofWisconsin, a pin setter, janitor's helper, laborer, drafter, deaner and coroner at various locations throughoutIllinois from 1946 until 1997, claims mesothelioma. He was also exposed to asbestos fibers through his father, who worked as a core maker and laborer inMilwaukee from 1930 until 1967, according to the complaint. Esayian is represented by Nicholas J. Angelides of SimmonsCooper inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0186.

--Frank Gallo ofCalifornia, a laborer, assembly line worker, grocery store manager,car salesman and car lot owner at various locations from 1954 until 2006,claims mesothelioma. He is represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 08-L-0175.

--John Gant ofTexas, a laborer and carpenter at various locations throughoutIllinois,Texas andMississippi from the 1950s until the 1990s, claims mesothelioma. Gant is represented by John A. --Kathryn George ofWisconsin, a nurse, nurse's assistant and mail sorter at various locations from 1959 until 1992, claims mesothelioma. She is represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0173.

--Phyllis Gray ofIllinois claims colon cancer on behalf of her recently deceased husband, Billy W. Gray, who worked from 1953 until 1986 as a painter at various locations. --Jill Halter ofVirginia claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased father, Edmund Milauckas, who worked from 1950 until 1995 as an engineer and consultant at various locations throughoutIllinois. --Marjorie Horsley ofKentucky claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased father, Donald Horsley, who worked from 1953 until 2008 as a maintenance worker, laborer, utility worker and owner of a grocery store at various locations. --Mildred Jordan ofFlorida claims lung cancer on behalf of her recently deceased husband, Ernest Jordan, who worked from 1957 until 1978 as an electrician at various locations. --Margaret Machingo ofVirginia claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased father, Wayne Cupp, who worked from 1967 until 1997 as a machinist at various locations. --Dixie McPherson of Virginia claims her recently deceased husband, Edward McPherson, developed mesothelioma after his work as a laborer from 1944 until 1986. -Peter and Erma Nikkila ofMissouri claim Peter Nikkila developed mesothelioma after his work as a laborer from 1957 until 2006. The Nikkilas are represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates inAlton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0183.

--Tom J. O'Connor ofIllinois claims his recently deceased father, John J. O'Connor, developed mesothelioma after his work as an engineer and general foreman from 1962 until 1980. Tom J. --Genevieve Robinson ofWashington claims her recently deceased husband, Alfred J. Robinson Jr., developed mesothelioma after his work from 1956 until 2004 as a roofer, riverter, carpenter, laborer, mechanic, machinist and engineer at various locations.
