A total of 15 newasbestos lawsuits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court during the week of Aug. 31 through Sept. 4.

The following complaints were filed:

--Eddie R. Bryan of Georgia, a member of the U.S. Navy from 1967 until 1969, a car porter from 1969 until 1971, a laborer on Atlanta Dairies in 1971, a laborer at Lanthern Machinery from 1972 until 1973, a salesman at WW Grainger from 1973 until 1978, a driver at Marta Bus from 1978 until 1989 and a laborer at Pilgrim Mat Service from 1989 until present, claims mesothelioma.Bryan claims he was also secondarily exposed to asbestos fibers through his ex-wife who worked as a secretary at Georgia Pacific from 1986 until 1989, through his father who worked in a hardware store and through his stepfather who was a salesman at Bynum Paint Company, according to the complaint.Bryan is represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-898.

--Mary E. Burnette of Illinois claims her recently deceased brother, James A. Hobbs, developed mesothelioma after his work as a laborer and electrician from 1968 until the mid 1970s, as a mechanic in 1972 and as a construction laborer from 1970 until 1973. Burnette will be represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, Angela B. Greenberg, Sam T. Richard, Bridget B. Truxillo and Lauren H. Ware of The Lanier Law Firm inHouston will serve of counsel. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-915.

--Rudolph W. and Opal E. Card of Nevada claim Rudolph Card developed mesothelioma after his work as a warehouseman refurbishing Jeeps from 1949 until 1950, as a truck and railroad maintenance worker from 1950 until 1952, as a truck driver from 1952 until 1953, as a garbage man from 1953 until 1954, as a maintenance and clean-up worker in 1955, as a boiler plant operator from 1955 until 1970, as a painter and sandblaster from 1970 until 1973, as a roustabout and general helper from 1972 until 1988, as a shadetree mechanic from the 1950s until the 1980s and as a backhoe operator in 1988. The Cards are represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, R. Craig Bullock and J. Kyle Beale inHouston will serve of counsel. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-929.

--Richard L. and Sylvia Collins ofIllinois claim Richard L. Collins developed mesothelioma after his work as an accountant at the John Deere plant from 1965 until 1992. The Collins are represented by Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-930.

--Justin A. Derrico ofOhio, a cook, salesman, maintenance worker, art teacher and ceramic artist at various locations from 1957 until now, claims mesothelioma. Derrico will be represented by Myles L. Epperson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-911.

--Lee Marion and Elizabeth Cline of Arkansas claim Lee Marion Cline developed mesothelioma after his work as a laborer, machinist and lathe operator at Wagstaff Engineering from 1963 until 1976, as a laborer and machinist at Cut Master from 1970 until 1972, as a machinist for Cominco American from 1978 until 1979, as a mechanic and supervisor at Abba Dabba from 1972 until 1974 and as a business representative for the International Association of Machinist Local 86 from 1979 until 1983. The Clines are represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, C. Taylor Campbell, J.D. McMullen, William H. Barfield and Aaron Plumlee of The Lanier Law Firm inHouston will serve of counsel. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-899.

--Burnadette Fuwell ofMissouri alleges her recently deceased husband, Buford R. Fuwell, developed mesothelioma after his work as a pipefitter, automobile mechanic and carpenter at various locations from 1947 until 1982. Burnadette Fuwell will be represented by Andrew O'Brien, Christopher Thoron, Christina J. Nielson, Bartholomew J. Baumstark and Gerald J. FitzGerald of O'Brien Law Firm inSt. Louis. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-906.

--Edward Garrugus of Indiana, a laborer, administrator, fabricator, carpenter and auto salesman at various locations throughoutIllinois,Indiana,Michigan andCalifornia from 1954 until 1989, alleges mesothelioma. Garrugus will be represented by G. Michael Stewart and Jill Price of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-927.

--Walter O. Gosnell Jr. and Barbara Morgan Gosnell of Tennessee allege Walter O. Gosnell Jr. developed mesothelioma after his work as a machinist mate and engine room operator for the U.S. Navy from 1965 through 1969, as a medical technician at Margaret Pardee Hospital from 1974 through 1975, as a medical technician and serology supervisor for the University of Tennessee from 1975 until 1976 and as a medical technician and microbiology supervisor at Morristown Hamblen Hospital from 1977 until 2000. The Gosnells are represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, C. Taylor Campbell, J.D. McMullen, William H. Barfield and Aaron Plumlee of The Lanier Law Firm inHouston will serve of counsel. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-900.

--Devereux Josephs ofColorado claims mesothelioma after his work as a management trainee, in financial analysis and controller of Industrial Insulations Division and Pipe Division from 1947 until 1983. Josephs will be represented by Christopher R. Guinn, Perry J. Browder and John A. Barnerd of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-926.

--Debora Mitchell of Virginia claims her recently deceased father, William Mitchell,developed mesothelioma after his work as aboilerman and inspector at various locations throughoutIllinois and theUnited States from 1945 until 1995. Debora Mitchell will be represented by Randy S. Cohn of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd inEast Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-924.

--James Palella ofNew Hampshire alleges his recently deceased wife, Frances Palella, developed mesothelioma after she was secondarily exposed to asbestos fibers through her husband, who worked as an auto mechanic helper from 1948 until 1950 and as a mortgage broker from 1981 until 1988. James Palella also performed brake and clutch work on his own vehicle from 1960 until 1980 and did remodeling work during the 1950s and 1960s on the Palellas' home inBrooklyn,N.Y., according to the complaint. The Palellas are represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-897.

--William R. Whitby Jr. and Shirley A. Whitby of Virginia allege William R. Whitby Jr. developed mesothelioma after his work as a millwright at Silvania Industrial Corporation from 1920 until 1950, as a millwright at Hercules Powder Factory from 1931 until 1950, as a furnace worker from 1955 until 1995, as an engine and boiler room worker from 1951 until 1955 and as a shade tree mechanic from the 1950s until 1990. TheWhitby are represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, R. Craig Bullock and J. --Michael D. Wiedmer ofNorth Dakota claims his recently deceased father, Norman Wiedmer, developed lung cancer after his work as an operator at various locations from 1961 until 1979. --Guy and Annette Wilkerson ofTennessee allege Guy Wilkerson developed mesothelioma after his work as a seaman in the U.S. Navy from 1946 until 1947, as a laborer at various locations from 1947 until 1953, as a worker at Fuller Brush in 1953 until 1960 and as a minister beginning in 1960. The Wilkersons are represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-923.
